From Wild Outdoors to Bustling City—Here Are Our New Hotels Opening and Joining Us in 2024

Nordic Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion journey throughout the Nordics. We are constantly growing, with several new hotel openings in the pipeline, and even more new member hotels joining our portfolio. So far, we can announce no less than five new hotels either opening or joining us in 2024. Meet the newest members of our family.

Outdoor resorts, historical properties and urban melting pots. Nordic Hotels & Resorts is growing like never before, with a diverse range of properties opening in 2024. Starting April, we’re entering spring’s season of growth and rebirth with no less than five new hotels opening, or joining, the portfolio. First out is the second iteration of Hobo Hotel, opening in Helsinki, and Hotel Fratelli in the sunny city of Karlstad in Sweden, drawing inspiration from Southern Europe.

Nordic Hotels & Resorts is the largest and fastest growing collection of independent hotels in the Nordics. We have an ambitious growth mindset, and are proudly running a hospitality group that both creates and develops new hotel brands, as well as houses some of the Nordic’s most iconic hotels and resorts. Our properties range from hotels built out of ice and serene Japanese baths, to exciting boutique hotels and centuries-old classics.

HOBO HOTEL HELSINKI – A Local Favorite, Done the Helsinki Way

Helsinki, Finland

Opening on April 15, 2024

Hobo is our idea of community. The popular concept started in Stockholm, with the opening of Hobo Hotel Stockholm on Brunkebergstorg in 2017. Throughout the years, the Hobo concept has proven to be a future classic—and is now expanding to all the major Nordic capitals.

Staying true to the core principles of the Hobo brand, Hobo Hotel Helsinki will be both a home for tourists and visitors, but also a place for the local community to live at, work from, create in, learn at and have fun at. We call it a home for the wild at heart and the constantly curious. Hobo Helsinki will see 183 unique rooms, a second floor filled with venues for creative conferences and events, a bar and restaurant, and a curiously curated house program.

HOTEL FRATELLI – Southern Europe Comes to Sweden’s Sunny City

Karlstad, Sweden

Opening April 19, 2024

Drawing inspiration from the southern parts of Europe, Hotel Fratelli will soon welcome guests to a future landmark, reborn as a bold boutique hotel. Through expressive design choices and culinary offerings, this old department store has been reimagined as a house dedicated to all the pleasures in life. True to its source of inspiration, you’ll find it just by Soltorget (“The Sun Square”) in Karlstad, known as Sweden's Sunny City. The hotel will feature Mediterranean-inspired rooms, and—maybe most importantly—a world of delicious experiences.

Hotel Fratelli will have several food and beverage outlets. At the heart of it is restaurant Vicino, taking guests on a journey from Rome through Paris, all the way to Karlstad. The philosophy centers around honest Southern European food. Guests will also be able to wine and dine in the stylish Fratelli Bar & Deli, dream of more southern latitudes in the orangery Isola, and indulge in a lively wellness concept in Allegria Retreat Club.

– Hotel Fratelli will offer an experience with that little extra, where dining, drinks and hospitality are in focus. Through bold design choices and lively personalities, we’ll break the boundaries of traditional hospitality and create an atmosphere where the bubbles are not in the pool, but in the glass. Here, we want you to be yourself, like you are with friends and family, says Anders Pertun, General Manager at Hotel Fratelli.

DALEN HOTEL – A Picturesque Piece of Untouched History

Telemark, Norway

Joining Nordic Hotels & Resorts on April 24, 2024

A magical landmark, straight out of a fairy tale. Dalen Hotel in Telemark, with origins that stretch back to 1894, is set to join Nordic Hotels & Resorts as a member hotel later this spring. This Norwegian hotel is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, looking back at more than a century of being a premium cultural-historical destination.

Like a postcard motif, the historic Dalen Hotel sits between the spectacular mountains in southern Norway. Situated at the end of the Telemark Canal, it has been described as the best preserved of all the old Swiss chalet-style hotels in Norway. It boasts 49 unique hotel rooms, all of them furnished in a historic style, and the Tower Suites as the the crown jewels. The grand fireplace room gathers visitors under a magnificent glass roof, and guests can experience local produce and French tradition in restaurant Bandak, arrange meetings in the hotel's grand salons, sauna bathe in the beautiful canal, or stroll in the lush garden and arboretum.
