Four Nordic Hotels & Resorts Properties Win at the World Travel Awards 2026
Four hotels in the Nordic Hotels & Resorts portfolio have taken five titles across Norway, Finland and Denmark at the 20th anniversary edition of the World Travel Awards 2026. Hotel Haven and Hotel AX in Finland, and Villa Copenhagen in Denmark, are all title holders for the second year in a row, while Lily Country Club in Norway took home two awards.
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to recognize excellence across the travel and tourism industry. Winners—spanning from hotels and resorts to tour operators and travel agencies—are decided by an online vote open to both travel professionals and consumers.
This year’s European titleholders were celebrated at the Europe Gala Ceremony in Montenegro, on October 17, 2026. Three hotels and one resort from Nordic Hotels & Resorts were among the 20th anniversary edition’s winners: Lily Country Club in Kløfta was named both Norway’s Leading Conference Hotel and Norway’s Leading Resort. In Helsinki, Hotel Haven won Finland’s Leading Boutique Hotel and Hotel AX won Finland’s Leading Design Hotel, while Villa Copenhagen was named Denmark’s Leading Hotel.
– The range of the Nordic Hotels & Resorts portfolio has always been our biggest strength. From design trailblazers to conference experts, our goal is to show all the different types of experiences that traveling in the Nordics can offer. We see the recognition at the World Travel Awards as direct feedback from the industry and from our guests, and we couldn’t be prouder of our fantastic hotel teams for earning it, says Henrik Berghult, Chief Operating Officer of Nordic Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle Division.

Lily Country Club
Kløfta, Norway
Norway’s Leading Conference Hotel 2026 and Norway’s Leading Resort 2026
Lily Country Club won two categories this year. It was named Norway’s Leading Conference Hotel for the second time, having first won the title in 2024, and it was also named Norway’s Leading Resort, a first for the hotel.
The resort opened in 2021 in the countryside at Kløfta, about 30 minutes from Oslo and 15 minutes from Oslo Airport Gardermoen. It sits by the renowned Miklagard Golf Club, and many of its sleek rooms have majestic views over the course. The expansive hotel features 486 rooms, as well as conference rooms for every event and occasion, with the biggest space taking up to 800 people in total. Between meetings at this conference destination, guests can practice their swing, use the sauna and hammam at Lily Spa & Lounge, or dine in the hotel’s brasserie.

Villa Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
Denmark’s Leading Hotel 2026
Villa Copenhagen has been named Denmark’s Leading Hotel for the second consecutive year. This comes on the heels of last year’s awards, where it got its win in the same category.
The hotel occupies the former head office of Denmark’s Central Post and Telegraph Head Office, a neo-baroque landmark completed in 1912. Reimagined as a hotel and open to great acclaim in 2020, its 390 rooms and suites combine restored, original period details like high ceilings and timber paneling with a Scandinavian color palette, custom lighting pieces, and Danish design classics. Breakfast is served in the post office’s former sorting room, and guests can enjoy everything from treats to-go to indulgent dinners in the restaurant Rug. On the roof, a 25-meter pool stays open year-round, sustainably heated with excess energy from the building.

Hotel AX
Helsinki, Finland
Finland’s Leading Design Hotel 2026
Hotel AX has won Finland’s Leading Design Hotel for the second consecutive year and the third time overall, following wins in 2023 and 2025.
The hotel opened in 2022 in Jätkäsaari, a new district on Helsinki’s western waterfront. “AX” stands for “Art Experience,” an apt name for a hotel that was developed from top to bottom together with some of Finland’s leading contemporary artists. From seven one-of-a-kind artist-designed rooms to massive sculptures, the hotel’s interior and overall concept was designed by renowned artist Stefan Lindfors, with the AX Under gallery showcasing rotating art exhibitions.

Hotel Haven
Helsinki, Finland
Finland’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2026
Hotel Haven has been named Finland’s Leading Boutique Hotel for the second year in a row. It is the hotel’s fourth win in the category, after 2017, 2020 and 2025.
A beloved city refuge, the boutique favorite Hotel Haven boasts 137 individually designed rooms and suites. In the foyer, guests can sit by the fireplace with the morning papers, and Bar Haven serves coffee during the day and drinks in the evening. Here, breakfast is one of the absolute highlights. It is served in the neighboring Sundman building, a 19th-century bourgeois townhouse in Helsinki, with its tall windows facing the Market Square and the harbor.
