Hernö Gin Hotell Welcomes First Guests to Its Perfect Blend of Design, Gastronomy and Adventure

This way, gin lovers of the world! The doors have officially opened to Nordic Hotels & Resorts' newest member hotel in northern Sweden, Hernö Gin Hotell. Imagined by the creative minds at award-winning Swedish gin producer Hernö Gin, this hotel in the picturesque Härnösand is a gin-uinely unique stay in stunning nature.

In 2020, world-famous Hernö Gin began work on realizing the vision of its own hotel: Hernö Gin Hotell. The goal was to create an experience destination that combines Hernö Gin's solid craftsmanship with high-end, personal accommodation. After several years of planning and construction, the doors are now open to Nordic Hotels & Resorts' newest member hotel.

– Hernö Gin Hotell is a perfect example of Nordic Hotels & Resorts' vision, where the hotel should be the reason to travel. Now, Hernö Gin has succeeded in creating an experience where design, service, gastronomy, drinks, nature and history are equally important parts. With its completely unique concept, Hernö Gin Hotell will further position Höga Kusten in both the Nordic region and in the world, says Henrik Berghult, Chief Operating Officer at Nordic Hotels & Resorts.

Distilled to Perfection

The newly built landmark Hernö Gin Hotell is located in Härnösand's best location, right on Kanaludden. The hotel consists of 122 rooms in seven different categories. These range from well-thought-out Classics, all of them with fantastic, natural light and views, to the magnificent Master Distiller Suite, a luxurious suite on the top ninth floor with views in three directions, overlooking the sea and the entire Härnösand.

Naturally, Hernö Gin Hotell will be a destination for gastronomy and everything gin. Guests can enjoy gin-inspired interpretations in the restaurant Southside, made with produce from farms in Northern Sweden and selected favorites from around the world. There is also the possibility to go on a gin tasting in the hotel's Gin Studio, or sip your way through the distillery’s range in the Hernö Gin Bar. Together with eight meeting rooms, the  Stillery Relax & Poolclub, and the connecting Härnösands Simhall, this is an experience hotel in the truest sense of the word.

– Hernö Gin Hotell is more than just a hotel—it is a destination in itself. A destination with unique taste experiences and a cozy environment that is inspired by the nature that surrounds our distillery. We are happy and excited to finally check in the first hotel guests and welcome them to the tasteful world of both Hernö Gin and the Höga Kusten, says Jon Hillgren, CEO of Hernö Gin Hotell and founder of Hernö Gin.

A Mix of Swedish Craftsmanship and Nature

Hernö Gin Hotell will be an important piece of the puzzle in Höga Kusten, a widely popular coastal and natural destination in northern Sweden. Hernö Gin welcomes thousands of visitors annually; now, they can offer their very own, first-class accommodation to all long-distance guests. Warmth and nature are two distinctive features of the interior design—but the overall experience is also meant to extend outside the building. The fantastic nature around the corner is well-visited all year round, and the hotel also organizes excursions to the Hernö Gin distillery in Dala, just outside of Härnösand.

Gin enthusiasts around the world are highly familiar with Hernö Gin, the world’s leading and most awarded craft gin producer. The proud pioneers behind Hernö Gin started the first gin distillery in Sweden in 2011. With a passion for the juniper spirit and a dream evolving to gin crafting, Hernö Gin’s founder Jon Hillgren journeyed to places and gin distilleries all around the world in his thirst for knowledge and search for inspiration. Finally, he settled in the small village of Dala, just outside Härnösand in the Höga Kusten of Sweden.

Today, Hernö Gin is crafting the world’s most awarded gins from natural, organic botanicals. Distilled in their hand-hammered copper stills named Kierstin, Marit and Yvonne, Hernö Gin is pouring its craftsmanship, transparency, and quality into every bottle of premium gin culture.
